What we believe at Hollis Center Church
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human. Christ died as a substitute to pay the penalty for our sin. He physically rose from the dead, physically ascended into heaven, and one day will physically return.
We believe in only one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Each person is separate from the others, but remains God. He is totally loving, serious about His glory, and completely holy.
We believe that the Bible is God’s perfect Word. It is wholly accurate, authoritative, sufficient and applicable to our everyday lives.
All of humanity (Christ excluded) by birth and action are sinners separated from God. The deserved penalty for sin is death - both physical and spiritual.
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and a fresh start with God, we must repent of our sins, believe in the person and work of Jesus Christ, and commit to His will for our lives. We will thereby experience true life and joy both here on Earth and eternally in Heaven.
We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together.
